School Council

While we would usually welcome visitors to our school, at the moment we are closed for visits due to Government Covid-19 guidelines. We look forward to welcoming you into school again as soon as possible.

Welcome to Pickhill Church of England Voluntary Controlled Primary School. Our school has been in existence since the early eighteenth century and is situated in the rural village of Pickhill adjoining the village green and the children’s playground.

We are a small, friendly school and our size enables us to deliver individualised education for every child. Our success is reflected in our results. We work within a caring and supportive environment, based on Christian values, that encourages all children to enjoy learning and reach their full potential.  Staff have high expectations for pupils and deliver quality teaching and excellent pastoral care.  The creative curriculum is supported by a number of after-school clubs including music, dance, gymnastics, baking and art. Children are encouraged to participate in inter-school events including sports.

We firmly believe that children learn best when there is a strong partnership between parents and teachers.  Parental involvement in their children’s learning journey is integral to our work.

Our School works in collaboration with Leeming and Londonderry Primary School and shares an executive Headteacher.

The school is well supported by an active Governing Body and  ‘Friends of Pickhill School’ which organises many social and fundraising activities.

This website aims to give you an overview of the school in addition to giving regular up-dated information for both pupils and parents.  If you are considering Pickhill as a school for your child, we would be very pleased for you to visit us.  Please phone the school to make an appointment:  01845 567339

We hope that you enjoy your visit to our website and find the information that you need. Please don’t hesitate to contact school with any queries you may wish to raise.

Thank you for visiting us!
