Religious Education is an important part of the curriculum at Pickhill CofE Primary School and is taught to all age groups from the Nursery through to year 6.
Teachers follow the school's Scheme of work when teaching R.E.
At Pickhill CofE Primary School we enjoy learning about major world religions and their festivals. For Diwali, many classes had Diwali days in which children learnt more about the story behind Diwali and they took part in activities such as creating Mendhi patterns.
Collective Worship
Collective Worship is an important part of the school day when we come together as a community and share stories, news, achievements and songs. Collective Worship encourages spiritual reflection, moral awareness and a caring attitude between all children. Themes are co-ordinated across the school throughout the year and local clergy from All Saints church and other members of the community take part in our collective worship on a regular basis.
We have strong links with the local Church with the local Vicar (Reverend Stephen Gamble) leading Collective Worship weekly. We contribute to the monthly Church magazine, Village Life.
