Information & Communication Technology (ICT)

ICTICTIn school we aim to make all children computer literate and independent in their use of the hardware and software to be found within our school.

We currently have computers in both Class One and Two that the children can access at any time. We also have a set of nine laptops which can be used in either class enabling larger groups of pupils to access ICT at any one time. We have a number of different programs to support children’s learning as well as internet access which provides an endless amount of opportunity for educational activities and research.

There are interactive whiteboards in each classroom which provide a valuable teaching resource for the children.

Children and staff make extensive use of digital cameras in order to create a full record of school life. Photos are used as a record of children’s activities around the school both as an alternative to written recording and also to publicize special events that take place in school.

This is an exciting time for ICT at Pickhill School. Current investment is ensuring that we remain at the forefront of technological development as it happens so that our children are well-equipped and ready for the future.
